Social CEO of the Week: Ronan Dunne, CEO of O2 (Telefónica UK)

This week’s social CEO is Ronan Dunne, the CEO of O2 (Telefónica UK), one of the UK’s leading digital communications companies, with over 23 million customers. He is also a Board Trustee of Set Up To Serve, an organisation whose goal is to double, by 2020, the number of young people participating in social action.

As well as being very active on social media, particularly Twitter, where he has almost 30,000 Twitter followers, Ronan  makes it a priority to read every single customer email. In this way he truly has his ear to the ground and understands the grassroots issues affecting O2’s customers.

On LinkedIn he regularly publishes blog posts on everything from social issues to thoughts on the future of mobile telecommunication.

He is committed to social action and devotes 20 per cent of his work time to youth unemployment and youth engagement.

Ronan will step down as CEO following the merger between Three’s parent company CK Hutchison and O2, a deal which is currently awaiting EU approval.
